Get your Thrill On With Our Vast Range of Area Attractions. 

Our region is a well-known vacation destination featuring a huge collection of coasters, numerous indoor waterparks, arguably the best beaches and islands in the Midwest and state-of-the art youth sports facilities.

Cedar Point, one of the largest amusement parks in the world, featuring a massive theme park, water park and beautiful, mile-long beach, features a collection of 17 coasters, numerous shows, themed interactive areas and food and beverage outlets, providing fun for the whole family. 

The region is also home to a state-of-the-art sports facility, featuring Sports Force Parks and Cedar Point Sports Center, which includes 10 multi-purpose outdoor turf fields for baseball, soccer, softball and lacrosse, as well as 10 indoor basketball courts and an indoor track.  The award-winning facility also boasts multiple food and beverage outlets and additional entertainment options such as miniature golf, rock climbing and a zip line.

If water thrills are more your speed, check out the region’s large collection of indoor water parks, including Great Wolf Lodge, Kalahari and Castaway Bay, purchase a day pass and slide your day away.


Explore Our Beaches and Shores.

Our beaches are visited by millions of visitors every year and for good reason.  Nickel Plate, Lake Front Park, and Rye Beach are favorites in the Huron area and Main Street Beach has been treating guests for many generations in Vermillion, Ohio.  In Sandusky, Cedar Point features a mile-long beach that can be accessed with paid parking.  If you are on the adventurous side, visit Sheldon’s Marsh and hike out to the lake on a paved path for unparalleled views, ample opportunity to spot wildlife and an undisturbed natural beach.

Fish Lake Erie for some of the best perch and walleye fishing in the world.

Take a fishing charter or fish from one of our many public piers.  Lake Erie, being the shallowest of the Great Lakes, offers the best perch and Walleye fishing.

Get out and Explore.

Rent a kayak at Lake Erie Adventure or join a guided kayak tour to explore Lake Erie shores by water.  If land is more your speed, hike at Old Womans Creek, Sheldon’s Marsh or one of the many beautiful Erie Metropark trails for pristine lake and bay views, ample wildlife.

Visit the Islands.

The region’s islands are a must visit destinations, all with their own unique vibe, offering countless dining, entertainment options to create memories with family and friends.  Take a ferry over to our beautiful islands, Kelleys, Put in Bay or Middle Bass:

Off the shores of Lake Erie on South Bass Island lies Put-In-Bay, a quaint Ohio village. Whether you love traveling to the island every year or you’re a first-time visitor, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on PIB. Often called the “Key West of the North,” this small town features a lively entertainment scene, historic sites, and breathtaking water views.

Our area has a wonderful selection of great restaurants, bars and places to eat.  Explore Downtown Sandusky for a more urban dining experience, Huron for a laidback beach vibe or the surrounding areas for great dining options.
