Grab your sweetheart for a drive with some Lou Reed “Perfect Day” jamming and head to Vermillion, Ohio.  Now you won’t feed animals in the zoo, but you will have the perfect tranquil day.

 Located about 30 minutes west of Cleveland about 15 miles east of Sandusky (Home of Cedar Point), Vermillion, Ohio is a must-visit destination.  The quaint charming town takes you back in time, with an idyllic downtown that boasts numerous cute boutiques, a variety of dining including some of the most celebrated fine dining in Ohio, immersive festivals and an all-around Midwest vibe that will exceed your expectations. 

  • Set the alarm clock to catch the sunrise at Main Street Beach next to the Vermillion lighthouse.  Make sure you bring your phone or camera as this will be an image you will want to remember!
  • Grab a coffee at Brewed Awakening at 5485 Liberty Avenue, menu and drinks all have catchy theme names like “Lake Effect”, “The Vermillion” or the featured drink “The Brewed Awakening” a caramel brulee latte.
  • Shop and explore downtown, some of our favorite spots are Erie & Anchor, Lee’s Landing, Szabo Apparel Co. and Vintage Crossing!  Pass through the numerous art galleries as you find super adorable clothing, handbags, scarfs and more…
  • Explore our parks and beaches!  Relax and take in the gorgeous landscaping at Exchange Park, Soak up the sun and swim at Main Street Beach or checkout Victory Park; there may be a concert if it is festival season.
  • Grab some lunch at Woodstock Café, known in the area for their sandwiches, artisan style pizzas, homemade soups, fresh salads, craft beer and locally roasted coffee & tea.
  • Go for a walk at Schoepfle Garden, over 70 acres of botanical garden, woodland bordered by the Vermillion River
  • Go for a hike and have a small picnic at Vermillion Reservation Mill Hollow or Bacon Woods.
  • Grab dinner and a drink at Touche or Wine Vault.
  • Catch the sunset at Main Street Beach

Throw on your swimsuit, crank some Zack Brown Band “Toes” and make the trip to Huron, Ohio, by far one of the most charming beach towns on Lake Erie. Huron, Ohio will blow you away with their sandy beaches and lake front parks.  Located less than 10 miles from Cedar Point and the islands (Kelleys and Put in Bay) ferry services, Huron has become a tourist destination for many generations.  With a FREE public boat launch, anglers and families that love to kayak, tube, water-ski, catch a trophy walleye, or cruise the lake frequent this town.

The town’s Main Street cuts through the center of the city, hugging the Huron River leading to Lake Erie and the Huron Pier. Along the way you will pass some awesome local businesses; marinas, restaurants, bars, bowling and coffee shops pave the way to the historic Huron pier.
